Welcome! Community Connect Maine is initiating the second year of the Collaborative Postcard Project, sponsored by Maine Developmental Disabilities Council. The goal of the project is to encourage constituents to feel comfortable contacting legislators about issues that they care about. Several organizations are participating by encouraging their members to reach out. Learn who your legislators are, and let them learn about you. Then after you have reached out to your legislators, we would love to have your feedback on the experience. Click HERE to share your feedback.

Directions to identify Maine Senator and Representative and find their addresses:

Click HERE to find the Senator and Representative that serves your neighborhood. Type in the prompts for your address then click onto the “Elected Officials” box. Scroll down to find the Maine State Senator, the Maine State Representative and the US Senators and Representative that serve you.

Directions to download, complete postcard:

Click HERE and download the 81/2 by 11 postcard page.

Print the front, flip over and print the back on the same paper.

On the message side of the card sign your name and address. You may also write in a personal message by hand if you wish. You could indicate which organization(s) that support people with disabilities that you are a member of including ones in your local area.

Next fold the 81/2 by 11 page in half with the message on the inside. Staple or tape it with small piece of tape on the outside edge.

On the other side, fill in where the address of your Senator or Representative and your return address. Place a stamp where indicated.

Follow the directions to the left to find your Senator or Representative and their address.

Click HERE to download the template. Copy the message on the PDF template into your email or onto a word document. Fill in according to the prompts on the message template. Adapt it to your personal story, sharing what is important to you. Send the message to your legislator.

Directions to download graphic labels to accommodate constituent communication style on postcards.

Click HERE to download graphic label template. Print on one page-size blank label paper or regular paper. After printing on one-size label paper cut out individual labels and stick onto postcard. OR after printing labels on plain paper cut out individual labels and use a glue stick to attach labels to postcard.
